POSITION(S): Telecom Construction Technician (2 openings for this position!)

Are you ready to embark on a thrilling career in the beautiful Pecos, Monahans, Kermit, Texas community?

Position Overview: The Telecom Construction Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications systems and infrastructure. This includes working with fiber optic cables, conduits, poles, and other telecommunications equipment. The technician will ensure all work is completed per industry standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, conduits, and poles.
  • Perform aerial and underground construction tasks, including trenching, digging, and pole setting.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and maps to determine work requirements.
  • Splice and terminate fiber optic cables using various techniques and tools.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in telecommunications construction.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications construction, fiber optic installation, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems, infrastructure, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for telecommunications construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing, and working in outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
